We're So Grateful!

At West End, our mission is to glorify God by making mature disciples of all nations, starting in the West End. That mission happens in many ways, including simply making sure the people God brings through our doors know they are loved. 

Few people have done that more faithfully than Jeannie Davis. 

Jeannie has been a member of West End since December 29, 1968, and if you've spent any time here at all, you probably know her. More importantly, Jeannie almost certainly knows you. 

For years, Jeannie has faithfully led our Greeting Team. But calling her a "greeter" doesn't quite capture it. If she sees someone she doesn't recognize, she'll chase them down, introduce herself, learn their name, and probably get their contact information before they leave. Then if you’re lucky, you’ll receive one of her famous letters welcoming you to our church.  

She does it because she genuinely loves people. 

Jeannie  notices people, cares about what's happening in their lives, and makes people feel like they belong. She lives her life on mission to make disciples in the West End.  

Romans 12:10 tells us, “Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.” Jeannie's many years of faithful service give us a wonderful picture of what that can look like. 

So, Jeannie…thank you! Thank you for decades of loving West End, welcoming people, and faithfully serving Christ and His church. We're grateful for you and for the example you continue to set.
